El Chisme is a comedy about the highly addictive world of gossip. We all know it quite well. But they know it especially well in East Los Angeles. Here Edward has just told his mother Martha he's going to propose to his girlfriend Paulina. Trouble is that his mother is the biggest gossiper on the block. The whole neighborhood soon finds out even before Paulina. The priest, the taco vendor, the salon ladies, even the friendly neighborhood gangsters create a soap opera around the young lovers with their gossip. Edward must then become the soap opera's leading man and rise above the "chisme" to find out for himself the truth about Paulina. Is she truly the one? Love, gossip and roosters take over East L.A.
